Baby CJ is no longer a Baby :(

This is CJ at 11 months. He looks and acts like a boy, no longer this little baby that came home with me from the hospital nearly 11 months ago. Wow. Look at that hair! It's crazy like mom and dad's.

This is how I know that I am getting old...

#1: When my bladder can't hold itself when jumping up and down to the song "One Way" or bouncing around in those jumpy house things.

#2: When I listen to Christmas music and cringe when people try to do remixes of them. ie. Little Drummer Boy remix by Jars of Clay. What were they thinking???

#3: When I could barely stay up til midnight to celebrate the turn of the New Year.

#4: When I became obsessed about reading recipe reviews to figure out how to cut back on any type of extra sugar or fat that you can omit...b/c everything is "too oily" or "too sweet".

#5: When I seriously considered changing my backyard into a garden. Also figuring out if a compost pile would fit back there too...

Thing I've been lovin' latetly...

I had a posted not long ago about something similar to this so please bare with me as I go off on things I've been lovin':

1)Coffee in the mornings. Reminds me of those days when I worked full time and dreaded every day of it that I'd literally spend the first half hour of work walking around the building, using the restroom, and drinkin' my coffee cept' now I don't work and have coffee anyways. Coffee prepares me for the long day ahead of me. Someone recently gave us some coffee grinds from Indonesia and that stuff was great but Thomas said it kept him jittery the whole day.

2) Martha Stewart at 1pm. CJ watches her too cuz I feed CJ a bottle around that time every single day. I liked her Thankgiving preparation stuff especially and the episodes dealing with pumpkins.

3) My awesome neighbors. In the past I hardly interacted with my neighbors because I lived on this private street. My mom wanted that house because it was secluded and had a good view. Little did she know being there gave me a lonely feeling because I didn't see how normal neighborhoods were like. This neighborhood that we live in is great! People know my name and ask about CJ often. I bake them cookies and offer them help if needed. Our next door neighbors to the right of us even climbed on the roof to help put our Christmas lights up because we were too scared to do it ourselves (she was once on the Gladiator show about 19 years ago!).

4) My small group, a.k.a. POG. It's been 3 long years together, friends for life, and Auntie's to my CJ. We've seen many people get married and a few of us having kids too. It's been fun...esp those days when we don't feel like doing the Bible study and end up watching TV. Nice! Other boy small groups have spun off of our POG group- guy friends and hubbies of our group started MOOGLE, which they sorta do Bible studies but they end up playing games. Then Thomas and other hubbies started another group called MOG which stands for "Men of Gore" because they watch scary movies when POG meets.

5) The fact that we don't currently have pets. Yes, you heard me! I talked to my neighbors today and watch dogs run around. I love dogs especially other people's dogs. I don't think I can take care of a kid and a dog. Plus CJ lately has been yelling at dogs. Doesn't matter if its cute and behaving, you hear him saying "ahhhhh".

6) Quirky entertainment through the television. Been going to the library lately and borrowing other things besides books. Have you heard of Freaks and Geeks? Its a show that all these big name sitcom/movie actors were in prior to being famous (such as the crew from Knocked Up, and this girl from Dawsons Creek/Sara something Cronicles, guy from How I met your mother, etc.). Pretty funny...! Also, the movie Millions was great! Squid and the Whale...interesting, not sure if i'd recommend it. Lars and the Real Girl...great!

7) Drinking soda again after not drinking it for years. I always thought it had too much sugar in it and it'd make us fat. Ok, whatever...one soda periodically won't hurt. Thomas encourages me to buy it- at first I hesitated then I realized that it was cheaper than juice and cheaper in general to give to kids when they come over. I'm still not too crazy about it but an occasional swish of Coke makes me smile.

8) Christmas is here! Love the lights, love the food, love the parties, and espcially love the time that we can reflect on what it's all about!

I'm not sure if anyone reads my xanga blog anymore so if you do, what are some things that you are lovin' nowadays?
